Spicy Calamari Salad

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
Sauce:  

1 oz. sake

1 lb. fresh squid (calamari)

8 oz. vinegar

potato starch

2 oz. hot sauce

oil for deep frying calamari

2 oz. soy sauce

4 pieces broccoli

4 oz. sugar

4 oz. carrots, julienne

 
1 tomato, sliced
 

Lettuce

  • Clean calamari and cut into bite-size pieces.

  • Dredge calamari in potato starch.

  • Heat oil to 350°

  • Deep fry the calamari until crispy (about 1-2 minutes).

  • Mix sake, vinegar, hot sauce, soy sauce, and sugar in bowl, blend well.

  • Place 1/4 of lettuce in individual serving bowl.

  • Add one piece of broccoli, 1 oz. carrots, tomato slices, and cooked calamari.

  • Pour sauce over and serve.
